Unum is offering its group income protection clients a tailor-made package which aims to minimise the time employees spend off work sick.
Specialists from the insurer will work with companies advisers to offer tailored vocational rehabilitation on managing absent employees and work out procedures to get them back into the working environment.
The company claims that they piloted a similar resource between 2003 and 2006 and had a success rate of 70 per cent among 2800 claimants.
Colin Fitzgerald, national accounts director for Unum, said the Premier cover product was a proven, modern and flexible support system. He commented: "We hope this launch will grasp the attention of IFAs and benefits consultants alike, who will be able to see that not only do we have a track record of success as the first provider in the market to offer a tailored early intervention resource, but that the product is now leaner and fitter.
