Asda launches Real Life protection plan

Fri, 18 Jul 2008

Asda Financial Services has launched its Real Life Cover protection plan, which it says will provide consumers with financial protection for a variety of eventualities.

Developed in conjunction with Lifesearch and Fortis, the policy will contain seven elements which include life, critical illness, income insurance and unemployment cover . Consumers can choose the cover they need on a menu basis and can take out one policy for the areas of cover required by means of a single application.

The policy consists of a Life Fund, which pays out on death or diagnosis of a terminal illness and a Living Fund, which will cover income and critical illness. The Life Fund element of the policy will not be affected by claims on the Living Fund component. Also, policyholders will be able to make as many claims as they wish to in the case of the Living Fund, but they will be limited by the amount of cash in their fund.
