Making a Claim

Once a policyholder has made a claim, they will usually receive a tax free lump sum. The maximum amount usually ranges between £100,000 and £250,000, but varies depending on the provider.

Once a serious illness has been diagnosed, payment is generally made within 28 days. However if the claim is for a permanent disability, the payment will take longer from six months to a year.

There are no restrictions on how the money can be spent. It can be used on absolutely anything from home improvements to paying off the mortgage or clearing any outstanding debts.

Coming to terms with an illness or condition can be very emotional. The aim of such a policy is to allow the policyholder to make life changing decisions and adjustments for the future.
